Privacy Policy
Effective date: 30 September 2026 · Studio: Rakesh Kode
At Mac Upgraded, we believe software should respect your privacy, your device, and your autonomy. We build native software for macOS and iOS with an uncompromising architectural principle: 100% on-device execution with zero surveillance.
1. The Native Software Suite
This privacy policy applies to the Mac Upgraded studio website and all applications developed under this imprint:
- Paperleaf (macOS): All invoice details, customer lists, line items, and print formats are stored inside macOS's sandboxed local container. Optional sync operates solely via your personal Apple iCloud container—we cannot see or access your records.
- Pathway (macOS): Operates as a local file manager on your Mac filesystem. Pathway contains zero internet access code, zero telemetry, and zero network calls.
- Paperbeam (iOS): Document scanning, perspective deskewing, and Neural Engine OCR execute exclusively on your iPhone's Apple Neural Engine. Biometric vault locking operates via the Secure Enclave (Face ID / Touch ID). No documents are uploaded to any server.
- NFC Pocket (iOS): Tag scanning, memory cloning, and programming communicate directly between your device's Core NFC hardware and the physical tag. Tag payloads are stored locally in your device sandbox.
- Brickr (iOS): Screen Time shielding and app blocking operate via Apple's ScreenTime and FamilyControls frameworks on-device. Your usage patterns and restricted app choices remain private to your phone.
2. Studio Website Data Collection
The Mac Upgraded website is a static HTML/CSS/JavaScript showcase hosted on standard web servers. When you visit our website:
- No Cookies: We do not place tracking cookies, advertising beacons, or session fingerprinting scripts on your browser.
- No Third-Party Analytics: We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any tracking network.
- Standard Server Logs: Like all web servers, the hosting provider records basic technical HTTP request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) strictly for infrastructure security and denial-of-service protection. These logs are purged periodically.
3. Communication & Support
If you contact us via email at contact@rakeshkode.co.uk, we will only use your email address and message contents to reply to your inquiry or resolve technical support issues. We will never add your email to marketing lists or share it with third parties.
4. Children’s Privacy
Our applications and websites collect zero personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we ever update our software architecture in a manner that affects this policy, revisions will be published immediately on this page with an updated effective date.
Questions or Concerns?
We are always happy to answer questions regarding our local-first privacy architecture.
