Tap Scan, point your camera at the page, and Paperbeam captures it with automatic edge detection. Capture more pages to build a multi‑page PDF, then tap Save.
Can I search my scans by their text?
Yes. Paperbeam recognizes text entirely on-device and you can search it from the main list. To copy the text, open a scan and choose Extracted Text from the “…” menu.
How do I protect a scan with Face ID?
Open the scan, tap “…”, and choose Protect with Face ID. After that, opening it requires biometric authentication or your device passcode.
How do I share a password‑protected PDF?
Open the scan, tap “…”, and choose Share Protected PDF…. Enter a password; the recipient will need it to open the encrypted PDF in any reader.
Does Paperbeam upload my documents?
No. Everything stays on your iPhone. Paperbeam has no accounts, remote servers, ads, or tracking telemetry. Review our Privacy Policy.
If I delete the app, will I lose my scans?
Yes, scans are stored locally in the app's sandboxed storage. We recommend saving important PDFs to Apple Files or your iCloud Drive periodically.
